Link to care

The treatment pathway

The start of the treatment path with the new DAA drugs whose characteristics pertaining to the simplicity of intake – orally – and the rapidity of the treatment process – from 8 to 24 weeks – are structured as the most appropriate to support the adherence to the care of the key population targets of the project.

During the treatment process, the person can benefit from counseling aimed at avoiding reinfection and empowerment actions that promote the success of the treatment pathway; in the event that additional problems emerge from counseling, other investigations on sexually transmitted infections could be proposed to the person being treated.
